Manchester House, Manchester
Tower 12 in Spinningfields Manchester stands high among the city buildings, but inside it is home to one of Manchester’s most interesting dining experiences. The Lounge on level 12 looks over the city, perfect to enjoy a cocktail or glass of fizz in, whereas the level 2 restaurant plays host to an environment for food lovers. These two environments come together to create Manchester House.
The venue was opened in September 2013 by Tim Bacon of restaurant and bar empire Living Ventures. His aim was to have an impact on Manchester’s food scene and “make fine dining accessible to Mancunians”.
The restaurant is led by Head Chef Aiden Byrne, the youngest ever winner of the coveted Michelin Star. Aiden is generally always there in the open plan kitchen for all visitors to watch at work. He is even open to feedback from guests.
Their lunch menu changes constantly which adds another element of excitement to any regular who takes a trip to the restaurant. Aiden describes Manchester House:
“Manchester House lives it up in a kind of dressed down way. Fine cooking served in an informal, fun and funky way. For us it¹s about the customer loving their time with us. Eating well, trying new things and enjoying a bit of what they love. We also thought it was vital the place had a proper drinking bar too, so you can pop in whenever you¹re in town, whether you want to eat or not”.
Blacka Installations were on hand to bring Manchester House and their guests the very best in sound. To suit the requirements, as always Blacka went above and beyond to custom make two different types of speakers for the venue. Tim Bacon did not want any obtrusive bass bins on the floor of the restaurant so Blacka Acoustics designed a series of small full range satellite speakers to provide a wide frequency of sound without the need of an accompanying bass bin.
